This allows up to three Passports and/or a few CD's / DVD's of backed up data to be secured on top and the bottom half of both can be used to secure jewellery, cash, spare keys or other small valuables. These and other items can also be secured in the Insert Boxes at either end. To secure Birth Certificates, Insurance Policies and other documents, remove the first three Insert Boxes, place the documents in the Safe Box then, replace the Insert Boxes. NB: Up to 12 thicknesses of standard 80 gram paper can be placed under the Insert Boxes.

Shroud and Cable

The Shroud and Cable is an Australian manufactured product designed specifically for the temporary security of a Passport Safe when an installed Docking Station or a Vehicle Fixing Kit is unavailable.

Shroud and Cable - Steel Shroud

The Shroud and Cable - Steel Shroud - is manufactured from 3mm thick steel and powder coated black.

The Steel Shroud has four corner cable anchor points at the rear for ease of use and pleasant aesthetics. Each side has numerous punched holes suitable for permanent concealed fixing of the Shroud and Cable on its edges, back or top if required.

The top of the Steel Shroud is fitted with m5x8mm high tensile clinch studs with shake proof washers and high tensile nuts to match the existing fixing holes in the Passport Safe Docking Station and additional holes for conventional fixing down of the Steel Shroud and Docking Station if required.

Shroud and Cable - Steel Cable

Supplied with the Steel Shroud is a 1.8 meter long spring coiled 10mm plastic coated 8mm oversized Steel Cable with an extra heavy duty four stage combination lock.

NB: In comparison to the Handgun legislation in the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) which specify the use of a 6mm Steel Cable to secure Handguns in vehicles we supply 34% extra security by using 8mm oversized Steel Cable to secure the Passport Safe / Steel Shroud when compared with that legislation.

Where Can A Shroud and Cable Be Used

Suggested places where a Shroud and Cable can be used to temporarily secure the Passport Safe:

Using a loaned or Company Vehicle.
Unavoidably having to leave a Passport Safe for short periods of time in a vehicle when, for whatever reason, a Vehicle Fixing Kit cannot be fitted in that vehicle.
Visiting a client at their office and having to leave your Passport Safe unattended in their office.
At your work place when you have to leave your Passport Safe unattended.
Staying away over night at a motel / hotel.
Staying overnight at a friends house.
Overnight in your home when a Docking Station has not been installed there.
If you are renting a house or apartment and you cannot securely fit a Docking Station there.
In your Caravan or Motor Home.
Or any temporary location where there is something solid that the Steel Cable can be wrapped round and locked.

How To Fit The Steel Cable To The Steel Shroud

First, slide the Steel Cable through at least two of the four corner anchor points of the Steel Shroud.
Second, loop one end of the Steel Cable around something solid and push it into the other end of the four stage combination lock and turn the four dials to lock it.

NB: You can set your own combination on the four stage combination lock.
Third, slide the Passport Safe into the Docking Station and lock the Passport Safe with the supplied High Security Abloy Key. All contents in the Passport Safe are now secure.

Where To Secure The Shroud and Cable In A Vehicle

Wrap one end of the Steel Cable around the back of the front seat floor bracket and push it into the other end of the four stage combination lock and turn the four dials to lock it.
Wrap one end of the Steel Cable through the boot hinge and push it into the other end of the four stage combination lock and turn the four dials to lock it.

The Steel Cable can also be used to facilitate additional security of brief cases, suit cases, tool boxes, camera cases even a second Passport Safe while carried in a vehicle, caravan or motor home.

Double Shroud and Cable Will Secure Two Passport Safes

Double Shroud and Cable will secure two Safe Boxes. Due to many requests we developed a Shroud and Cable to secure two Passport Safes in one convenient Shroud and Cable.

The Double Shroud and Cable is manufactured from the same material and finished the same way as the Single Shroud and Cable that is designed to secure one Passport Safe and we use the same 1.8 meter long spring coiled 10mm plastic coated 8mm oversized Steel Cable with an extra heavy duty four stage combination lock, which you have read about above.

As you can see in the above picture there is a Double Docking Station fitted to the Double Shroud and Cable enabling two Passport Safes to be secure in it.
