In the early 1990's a couple of thousand man hours was invested in the design, material selection, manufacturing techniques and testing of the Passport Safe.

In 1993 after nearly 3 years of research and development the Australia designed and manufactured Passport Safe became available for every one to purchase to secure their Passports, Insurance Policies, jewellery, cash, spare keys, backed up data in homes, apartments, offices, factories, caravans, motor homes and any type of vehicle with simply DIY installation.

The Passport Safe Comes In Five Parts
1 - Docking Station
Docking Station that is easily installed to almost any flat surface
and at any angle, even upside down, using screws, bolts or ACRYLIC (water based) glue into which the Safe Box slides in and locks with the supplied High Security Abloy Key, Abloy Classic or Abloy PROTEC. 2 - Safe Box
Safe Box with a lid that locks with the supplied High Security
Abloy Key, Abloy Classic or Abloy PROTEC. This allows the Safe Box to be taken from one location to another without the contents being exposed eg. slide the Safe Box out of one Docking Station then lock the lid.
Then take the Safe Box to another previously installed Docking Station and slide it in and lock it with the supplied High Security Abloy Key.

3 - Four Removable Insert Boxes
Each Passport Safe includes four Removable Insert Boxes. You will see 
in the picture below the two centre Insert Boxes have a cut out that is half the height and width of each. This allows up to three Passports and/or a few CD's / DVD's of backed up data to be secured on top and the bottom half of both can be used to secure jewellery, cash, spare keys or other small valuables. These and other items can also be secured in the Insert Box at either end.
NB: 200 notes can be secured in each Insert Box. That's $80,000 plus this small, light-weight, virtually indestructible Safe Box will secure.

Flocking is a heavy duty automotive grade velvet/suede finish,
that was used on selected parts of Ford LTD’s. Flocking is electrostatically fired into a special adhesive resulting in both a hard wearing and protective coating that puts a beautiful finishing touch on selected internal parts of the Passport Safe.
To secure Birth Certificates, Insurance Policies and other documents, remove the first three Insert Boxes, place the documents in the Safe Box then, replace the Insert Boxes. NB: Up to twelve thicknesses of standard 80 gram paper can be placed under the Insert Boxes. Anymore and the lid may not close.
4 - Heavy-Duty Cam Assembly
Fitted to the back of the Abloy Lock, inside the Safe Box, is a specially designed cam. When the Safe Box Lid is closed and the High Security Abloy Key is turned 180 degrees the cam secures the lid to the Safe Box through a specially designed slot in the lid.
5 - Abloy Lock
Your choice of two High Security Abloy Locks.
- Abloy Classic 6mm Left Hand Security Lock, with a heavy-duty cam assembly and two super strong Nickel Silver Keys. - Abloy PROTEC (Ultra) High Security Lock, with a heavy-duty cam assembly and two super strong Nickel Silver Keys. How To Secure The Safe Box To The Docking Station
Slide the Safe Box part way into the Docking Station and turn the High Security Abloy Key 180 degrees to remove the cam from the Safe Box Lid then, push the Safe Box all the way into the Docking Station and turn the High Security Abloy Key 180 degrees in the opposite direction to lock the Safe Box Lid.
By turning the High Security Abloy Key the cam goes through the Safe Box Lid and the slot in the Docking Station thus securing the Safe Box to the Docking Station. This conceals all the screws or bolts used to install the Docking Station making them inaccessible.

- Safe Box weighs approximately 1kg (2.2 pounds) empty. Even though the Passport Safe is Incredibly Light-Weight, it is as Tough as Steel and Virtually Indestructible.

The Passport Safe Can Also Be Securely Installed In Most Vehicles
The Passport Safe is the only Lexan Safe in the World that can be secured in vehicles by initially installing a specially designed Vehicle Fixing Kit into the vehicle. Then fit a Docking Station to it.
Once a Docking Station has been fitted to the Vehicle Fixing Kit the Passport Safe can be slid in and locked with the supplied High Security Abloy Key. Once locked, even if the vehicle is broken into the Passport Safe and its contact are theft proof.
How Secure Is The Passport Safe When Secured In A Vehicle
The only way to remove the Passport Safe once locked in its Docking Station from a Vehicle without the High Security Abloy Key is:
- Use a grinder to cut the Vehicle Fixing Kit metal backing plate and then use a power saw to cut the Safe Box in half. If someone did this they would destroy most of the contents in the Passport Safe.
As you must realise unless a vehicle is actually stolen the Passport Safe is absolutely secure from what are called the smash and grab or opportunist thieves. NB: They represents more than 99% of all vehicle break-ins.
Lets face it, how many thieves take a Generator with them to operate a Grinder and Power Saw when they break into a vehicle?

Shroud and Cable
Some vehicles cannot be fitted with a Vehicle Fixing Kit for various reasons (loan cars etc).
