Passport Rule Changes: In Australia if a person has two or more Passports stolen or lost they will never be given a Passport again. Instead they will be given a travel document that only lasts for 12 months instead of ten years as a Passport. Worse still, a travel document costs the same as a ten year Passport.

NB: That means every 12 months you will have to apply for a new travel document and pay the full fee that a Passport would have cost you for 10 years.
